A small asteroid will pass close to Earth – Mark Community

NASA

asteroid · 2014 RC

On Sunday, September 7, near-Earth fly a small asteroid. An object with a diameter of about 20 meters will pass our planet at a distance of only 40 000 km. This is 10 times less than the distance of the Moon from Earth.

The asteroid was discovered in 2014 RC 31 sieprnia by the Catalina Sky Survey, and the next night it confirmed the existence of the Pan-STARRS telescope first property does not pose a threat to Earth, but its close passage is an opportunity for astronomers to carry out observation. The asteroid will not be visible to the naked eye, but even a small amateur telescope simply because I see it.
