The Rector of the Catholic University of Lublin, Fr.. prof. Antoni Dębiński stressed that the establishment of the consortium is the result of previous international contacts Lublin universities that now will be more intense. – We want to jointly acquire research grants, we think of double dyplomowaniu. I am confident that we will coordinate these activities so that they will be fruitful – said the rector of the Catholic University of Lublin.
– A list of the members of the consortium will expand, we have indications that other universities will want to join us. We intend to create a network secretariat, meetings will be cyclical, but in different places – said Fr. prof. Dębiński.
Marshal of Lublin Slawomir Sosnowski said that the agreement between the universities should also affect the cooperation between scientists and business. He also expressed the belief that will be a good start for a better interregional cooperation .
The Rector of the University of Education Sulkhan Saba Orbeliani in Tbilisi, Georgia, prof. Vaja Vardidze, said that the creation of networks is a valuable initiative. We look forward to joint research projects, especially in the field of law and theology as well as mutual exchange of professors and students, which will be even more approached our people – he said.
The Rector of the National University Ostroh Academy in Ostrog, Ukraine, prof. Ihor Pasichnyk stressed that the Ukrainian universities tend to Europe. Our university is already working with Polish universities. Many people in Ukraine are leaving to study in Polish, but then come back and work for the good of our country. At our university operates 10 people who have successfully defended their doctorates at Polish universities, including the Catholic University – he said.
East European University Network, formed 12 universities, including eight from Ukraine, and one each from Belarus, Moldova, Georgia and Polish.
The goal is to be a partnership in research and teaching students. Universities want to, inter alia, jointly conduct research projects to apply for international grants, access to the infrastructure of individual branches and produce publications. Also intend to work in support of national minorities, religious and ethnic minorities and organize joint cultural, artistic and sports events.
