As a result of a violent wind overturned the oldest oak Boleslaw. Tree, located near the town of Bagicz in the municipality of Ustronie Morskie, was felled by the storm, which occurred on the night of May 31 to June 1. Currently oak, which is a natural monument, located in the forest.
Boleslaw was the oldest oak in Poland. Municipal Office Ustronie Marine announced that tree over 800 years to grow in the community. But not entirely clear how many actually he has oak years. There is a suspicion that he was half his age, and he was only 400 years.
Although oak Boleslaw no longer rise, there is a chance of giving him a second life. In 2014, the Institute of Dendrology in Kornik downloaded shoots Boleslaw to patented research and created maple tree. According to the Municipal Office Ustronie Morskie, if possible, efforts will be made to the site of the fallen Boleslaw planted his “scientific twin.”
