Awakening of a European lander on the comet’s surface is an unexpected chance for researchers.

The message that came from the ESA Flight Control Centre in Darmstadt, Germany, for the researchers was how win the lottery. Philae again gives!

– We hope that we will be able to conduct experiments to determine whether comets are the source of life on the Earth – said prof. Monica Grady of the British Open University. At the news of the resumption of work by the lander with joy hugged a taxi driver.

After landing, solar panels Philae were not able to provide energy, because the lander caught in the chasm where the sun’s rays do not reach. Philae had to work until March, until when the comet approaches the Sun at a distance such that burn.
