LG Super UHD. 4K TV 2015 – Gazeta.pl

The LG Super UHD offers new series includes:

– LG UF950

– LG UF940

– LG UF860

– LG UF850

– LG UG870

All of them have a matrix of IPS Ultra HD resolution (3840 x 2160 pixels), the operating system webOS 2.0 and the technologies of LG Group in ColorPrime . The last point needs further explanation, because under the name “ ColorPrime ” LG understands two solutions, which vary depending on the model.

In some TVs (currently LG Series UF950) ColorPrime means to use Wide Color LED . They are (most likely) blue LEDs coated with a white phosphor, which generate light with a greater range than the white LEDs. The same solution applies Panasonic panels that show in Frankfurt. In LG Wide Color LED color spectrum has increased to 25%.

In other models (currently LG UF9400) was used technology Quantum Dot , or quantum dots, which certainly already heard . In LG panel with quantum dots is one kind of particle emitting red. According to the LG has a reduced power consumption, increased permeability of the quantum dot light panel and provide more uniform illumination and color over the entire screen. LG quantum dot in the spectrum of colors has increased to 30%.

In addition, LCD TVs this year UHD used:

– Ultra Luminance Technology, which involves the transfer of power from the darker parts of the image and increase the brightness of the areas requiring greater clarity.

– Fixed the six-system image quality improvement for Ultra HD, which is to influence better the quality of fine lines and textures.

– Harman / Kardon (on selected models) and stand Auditorium Stand, which, according to LG has better distribute sound.

– The operating system webOS 2.0 – the new models faster by up to 74%. Some of its functions will also appear as an update to webOS 1.0 for TVs last year (I wrote about this on my blog). The panels of 2014 also will improve system performance, although to a lesser degree than in the recent receivers.

If you have the impression that the name “SUPER UHD” which uses LG, is similar to the “SUHD” which in their highest series uses Samsung ( we wrote about them last week ), then you’re right.

LG explains that the name “SUPER UHD” is intended to emphasize new possibilities related UHD LCD TVs eg. with quantum dot (wider range of colors), an elaborate system of quality improvement and so on. It is clear, however, that this movement directed towards marketing Samsung.

Both companies have their behind the ears. Samsung introduced SUHD panels, which I wrote on the blog and communications built in such a way that the less-stricken consumers (and journalists) fooled that this new type of TV. In fact, these are the LCD panels from the quantum dot UHD, or similar arrangement as the competition.

However, the marketing procedure went and met frequently erroneous opinions that this new type of TV. Samsung did it, of course, to distinguish themselves from the competition. In particular, LG, which puts strongly to promote OLED (which currently does not have a Samsung – which may soon be changed).

A service of “SUHD” went to Samsung with flying colors, and now LG reacts in a similar way. UHD LCD TV is no longer anything new, so you have to go with the flow. SUPER UHD sounds great, and this offer Samsung does not seem quite so unique.

The crazy ? Of course. I wrote once before about the absurdities of the fight on the news and just as comical desire for big corporations of being the first in the world. However, any company can call their products as she likes, so it’s hard to have anything to Samsung LG or for bad. That’s what we should do is to acquire knowledge, not to be misleading in terms of what the product really is.

We do not have specific dates Prime Minister and the prices of all new models of LG’s Super UHD, but specifications are available two televisions.

In addition to the new Ultra HD LCD LG will have this year a new series of OLED panels Ultra HD matrices. There is currently no official dates of the Prime Minister of the TV, but the sale has already started in the west. In Poland, there will be probably around May / June.
