Instead, it allows tourists feel safer – said the head of the group Beskidy Mountain Rescue George Siodłak.

The data is automatically saved on the server in the Beskidy Mountain Rescue Central Station. If you lose your way just “click” corresponding function to call for help or send a text message with the coordinates of his position. This will allow us an instant location and send help to the indicated place – he explained.

Beskidy goprowców spokesman added that application allows, among others, notification of the planned hike. The entered information about the starting point, purpose, time and route also handles will go to rescuers. Also brings the principles of first aid.

The application will be expanded. – For example, in view of the blind shall be informed, in which direction should be followed in order not to lose the trail. Above this function we are still working. (…) It will be easier routes concerned, as for example in Szyndzielnia or Goat Mountain in Bielsko-Biala – he explained.

A free application is the result of cooperation between the Beskidy Mountains Mountain Rescue with Polish IT company, Transition Technologies, which deals with, among others, the creation of IT systems for the energy, industry and medicine. “We are pleased that we could develop something that directly contributes to saving human life and health” – said the president Konrad Świrski. Previously, Transition Technologies, among others transferred Funds for the purchase of mobile defibrillators for goprowców.

This is the second such application, which can be used in Polish mountains. Previous – “Rescue” to work only on Android. With “Help in the mountains” you can also be used on iOS.

Group beskidzka is the largest of the seven active within the framework of the Mountain Rescue. Roots in the Beskidy Volunteer Rescue Service, which was created in November 1952. Works in the Beskid Slaski, Żywiecki, Small and western parts of Makowski. It operates in the less than 500 rescuers. In the first quarter of this year. in the Beskidy injured in mountain accidents were 1383 people. In the Tatras tourists provides assistance Tatra Voluntary Rescue.
