NASA published its first – in color! – Photo of Pluto. The photograph made New Horizons spacecraft, which in a few days will fly “right” next to Pluto, considered until recently as the last planet of our solar system.
This is the most accurate picture of Pluto ever taken from a distance of about 8,000,000 km.
The photo shows among others dark spots near the equator, which NASA scientists called “the heart of Pluto.” On the surface eksplanety you can also see spot called “whale”.
Pluto is so small that NASA tweeted his size equates to the size of the United States.
The probe New Horizons is speeding toward Pluto, which allows astronomy enthusiasts dream that subsequent images will be even more accurate. According to calculations by New Horizons will fly “next” Pluto on 14 July.
