CEO of Canonical, Mark Shuttleworth, has officially confirmed: the first smartphone running Ubuntu hit the market early next year.

Besides that mobile will be available, we know absolutely nothing. Shuttleworth did not want to give away even that which hardware manufacturer decided to take a chance and start the production of mobile phones with the default Ubuntu installed.

Until now, if someone wanted to use Ubuntu Touch on your phone, have to install it yourself by hand. Canonical has also tried his hand at Kickstarterze campaign, through which the company wanted to raise funds to produce their own devices. As you probably know, the funds could not be collected.

It only remains to wait for Canonical to betray us, which the manufacturer has adopted Ubuntu Touch to their devices.
