Philips Brilliance 4K (288P6LJEB) is a nicely designed monitor. Quite thin frame side not spoil the viewing experience movies, or playing. As befits a product from Philips, the engineers placed a strong emphasis on ergonomics – the model is equipped with the pivot, you can also change the height and angles. The set are also holes to match the VESA mounting standard. On the back of the screen you will find DVI, HDMI, VGA, MHL and DisplayPort. On the side of the turn, there are two USB 3.0 ports and two USB 2.0. In the box you will also find HDMI cables, DisplayPort, DVI and plate with software to control the monitor from Windows.
How is work on the 4K screen? At first it’s hard to get used to – work area is huge, and icons are tiny – so try to change the scaling of the screen, otherwise it will be a problem with the work in text documents. What games and movies? Unfortunately, the monitor is based on the matrix TN, which makes the quality of color, viewing angles of IPS screen, we can only dream of. The screen is for a fast – there are no liquidity problems.
Unfortunately, to comfortably play the latest games, one graphics card is not enough. Is this 290X or GTX 970 of 60 frames per second in high-quality graphics settings can only dream of. Without the two latest graphics cards up to 4K there is nothing approach.
In conclusion – Philips 288P6LJEB is quite interesting 4K TVs. First, his price is “only” 2300 dollars. Screen, if someone does not take a professional photos, or do not expect perfect black level in movies and games, not discarded. But keep in mind that this is only the beginning of 4K technology in computer monitors and soon awaits us a crop of such products. For this, in order to fully enjoy the benefits of this technology in games, you have to have a really powerful computer, otherwise a liquid game can be forgotten.
Is it worth it? In my opinion, if you’ve invested in a matrix TN monitor should be on the top of the list – it’s better to buy something with a lower resolution and on a matrix of IPS or MVA. However, if we absolutely had to have 4K on the computer, this screen is a good option Philips
