People of Science: Economics under occupation and innovative handbook – Polish Radio

The Foundation for Polish Science offers many different scientific programs. One of them is the project Skills. – This training project through which scientists can develop skills useful in the world of science, but not only, as in business or education. Forms of support are different: training, awards, internships, meetings with mentors – Deputy Director. Program activity FNP Adam Zielinski.

In the project Skills are different programs. – When starting Mentoring, we wanted to allow researchers to contact with scientists experienced more of them, ie. Mentors who can help a young researcher in the study – says Zielinski.

Dr. Peter Koryś of the Faculty of Economic Sciences, which under the Mentoring works with Professor Max Schulze from the London School of Economics and Political Sciences, examines the economic history of the Polish lands under occupation. – London School of Economics is one of the few departments of economic history in the world. Prof. Schulze is an important historian of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. His advice is very valuable – says Dr. Koryś, in his research focuses on Galicia. Hence cooperation. – We are trying to assess how to develop the Polish lands under occupation. No one has yet analyzed the partitions for this example. GDP.

Another program is Engage. – It is about this that researchers encouraged not only to popularize their research, but also to engage the public in science – explains Zielinski.

MSc. Dariusz Velvet, a graduate student from the Faculty of Physics, Warsaw University of Technology under the ENGAGE (the aim is to popularize science among non-scientists) is implementing the project “My first book of experiments,” which is addressed to students of primary and middle schools.

– I am currently on workshops for young people. Just learn to solder – says the physicist, which are combined by telephone. – In our book about that learn best through practice and experience. We give the recipients, ie youth, a tool to reach the world to get to know themselves in practice.
