World of new technologies slightly raised an eyebrow when it turned out that the top three largest global manufacturers of smartphones went Xiaomi Chinese. It was not the information that nobody expected. Since this company was on everyone’s lips thanks to an important transfer – the Chinese managed to recruit one of the most recognizable faces of Google, which is Hugh Barr. It was a matter of time, as Xiaomi climb to the top of the market. Few thought this would happen so quickly.
Now the podium largest manufacturers of smartphones is as follows: in the first place is Samsung, right behind Apple and the lowest degree of Xiaomi. Just behind them lurks another Chinese electronics manufacturer Lenovo, which had a record quarter in terms of sales of smartphones. The top five Koreans from LG, who are responsible for the production of smartphones such as the Nexus 5 or LG G3.
The two largest producers of Xiaomi still a lot missing. Chinese people under the leadership of Hugo Barry sold 17.3 million phones. Americans from Cupertino sold while in the last quarter of 39.3 million iPhones and Samsung Koreans with more than 78 million of its phones. However, the leader recorded a drop in sales year on year by 8.2 per cent., And Apple increase of “only” 16.1 percent. I wrote “only” because Xiaomi can boast an increase of 211.3 percent …. Participation in the Chinese market increased from 2.1 percent. to 5.3 per cent. Sales in million instead of 5.6 for those over 17.

This number must make an impression. They also show where you are currently the most promising markets for mobile devices – in China and India. While the former appears to be more attractive to manufacturers, because at this moment the purchasing power of the average Chinese is higher than the average inhabitant of India. In India, the penetration of smartphones, in turn, is lower than in the Middle Kingdom. In both markets Xiaomi can fight with the biggest players made their great smartphones with lower and middle shelves.
The march in this direction is now the future of the smartphone market. Earning on high-end devices is not an easy thing, as recently convinced Samsung. Only Apple can make money on so-called high-endach, although it is worth noting that without the participation of Koreans supplying components for iPhones and iPads would be much more difficult.
Xiaomi understands. The company was founded in 2010 and within just four years, jumped on the podium manufacturers of smartphones. This is due, as already mentioned, the focus on the Chinese market and the production of mobile phones with the lower and middle shelves. Moreover, Xiaomi does not invest in the sales network, as opposed to Apple and Samsung. Chinese products can be purchased directly from the manufacturer through their website, but in Europe and the United States can be found in other forms of distribution. In Poland, more electronics stores do not meet, but it can easily be found eg. On Allegro.
Hugo Barra while Xiaomi sees success in the approach to the client. In his opinion, Google says about “users”, Microsoft’s “consumer” and the Chinese people of their clients define as “fans”. I actually have something there, beyond the obvious reputational play. Forum for owners of Xiaomi China has 30 million users who publish 400,000 entries per day. It is a force which can not be overestimated.
At the moment, everything seems to indicate that Xiaomi will grow at a rapid pace, because it has a lot to do on such large markets such as Brazil and India – and it is their focus now. Do not forget that before them as an intensive expansion in the US and Europe. Increases up to 200 percent. year probably in the long run will be very difficult to achieve, but in the next few years quietly Xiaomi has a chance to become the second largest producer of smartphones in the world and push for second place from Apple’s iPhone, which steadily lost market share, but consistently put more revenue Cupertino giant. Interestingly months ahead on the smartphone market.
