Card. Nycz: a man wants his life to be meaningful – Onet.pl

Warsaw metropolitan reminded that God has given Church in the twentieth century, the great and holy popes John XXIII and Pope John Paul II and Blessed Pope Paul VI.

Card. Nycz established in his homily for the beatification and canonization them, stressing that they bid today – the Solemnity of All Saints – put the question: “What is holiness?” and “why and you need a holy man?”. He stressed the holiness to which each Christian is called, helps in solving many difficult problems in life and society.

The question as to “why and you have to be a saint,” the prelate recalled that every man is looking for meaning in their life and its purpose. – The answer of the meaning and purpose of life is contained in two words: man wants to be happy and a man wants his life to be meaningful, someone served. The meaning of our lives should be constant force for the greater glory of God in all that we do – said Cardinal. Nycz.

Holiness – as explained Cardinal. Nycz – is “the great gift of God and share in His holiness to which we are called by baptism.” (…) He stressed that this is primarily a grace, a gift of union with God, while the imitation of Jesus Christ.

– If our life is sacred, then the way we go, it will be also a way to solve many difficult problems in working and social life – said the prelate.

After the mass. Cardinal. Nycz led the funeral procession Powazki Cemetery, stopping, among others, the tombs of bishops Warsaw, boards placed at Katyn St. Saint Charles Borromeo and the grave of Father. Stefan Niedzielak, who was murdered in 1989 in mysterious circumstances. During the procession also prayed for the victims of the Second World War, the dead politicians, as well as the poor and unknown.

All Saints’ Day is celebrated in the Catholic Church since the ninth century. He set them on November 1 by Pope Gregory IV in 837 years.
