The fact cleaning the App Store with malware informed analysts SourceDNA who explained that 256 of deleted programs used the SDK designed for the Chinese advertising platform Youmi. These are the tools integrated with applications for iOS and Android that allow stores to collect information about their visitors. These programs have been downloaded over a million times in total, and among them include, among others, the official app stores, McDonald’s designed for China and several other equally popular applications.
This is not the first time that Apple removes applications from its official stores and probably more than once we hear about more such actions. For now, the company ensures that all applications that will use the SDK Youmi, will automatically be rejected and will not go to the official store. Representatives of the group also claim that the work of the manufacturer and, if the contested SDK will have removed products will be able to return to the App Store.
