The batteries in our devices some time ago ceased to grow significantly. Typically, phones and watches, we have the usual lithium-ion batteries (sometimes tend to be lithium-polymer), which is not enough that they are heavy, it’s still big. To change this state of affairs can new prototypes of small and flexible batteries Samsung.

The new batteries are two: Stripe (pl. Bar) and band (pl. Headband). The first type is a thin strip of a thickness not exceeding 0.3 mm which is so light that it can power almost anything. The company as a potential application lists necklaces, hairpins, accessories for T-shirts and trousers, and many others. Such a small size is obtainable by a much higher density of energy stored in the battery. With such dimensions and low weight, this flexible battery can find a wide range of applications.

Samsung so far not announced a possible release date of new batteries.
