On the trail of a new mystery of the most famous Egyptian pyramids – Pyramid of Cheops – fell into an international team of scientists. Thermal Studies of ancient structures indicate the possible existence in the interior of hitherto unknown spaces – perhaps chambers with sarcophagi.
Initial studies – carried out by French, Canadian, Japanese and Egyptian scientists The project, called “Scan Pyramids” – showed that during the day there are large temperature differences between different parts of the east wall of the pyramid of Cheops, located just above the ground. These parts are made of the same stone blocks, so theoretically be heated by the solar heat in the same way. According to the researchers, the only explanation for the temperature differences that date back to 6 degrees Celsius, is the existence of secret corridors or rooms.
Scientists predict now the use of ultra-modern methods, involving the study of penetration by different parts of the pyramid “cosmic rays” – more precisely saying, subatomic particles called muons that reach the Earth’s surface from the upper layers of the atmosphere. They penetrate through matter like X-rays. In the case of the pyramid of Cheops tried to use this method in the past, but the hardware, which possessed the researchers, was then less effective.
