As the first and only editorial in Poland drove mermaid Melusine R – prototype racing car constructed in Poland. When a year ago the company founder AK Motor told reporters that siren reborn and will be ridden, powątpiewaliśmy. Meanwhile prototype racing version takes part in a demonstration ride on the street Karowa in Warsaw during the rally Barbórka. And we had a chance to take a ride in the car the day before, on the right-hand seat next to the vehicle manufacturer Paul Dytko (from Proto Cars from Nysa).
mermaid Melusine R has evolved over several months. The basis is a tubular structure, the suspension comes from rajdówek group N. The engine is a turbocharged two-liter unit, transplanted from the Mitsubishi Lancer (rally). Body made of laminates, based on the drawings of the main designer and owner of the rights to the brand Siren – Arkadiusz Kaminski. The car has 400 horsepower and up to hundreds of acceleration in approx. 3.5 seconds. He says its constructor, it does not matter that much, as the mermaid Melusine R rally car race.
Is the production car will look like? According to the assurances of its launch, even very much. The car has to have several body styles (graphic on nowasyrena.pl): coupe, convertible and station wagon. Standard versions are powered by engines of 3- and 4-cylinder. The stronger versions will be available 4-wheel drive.
They are already known even estimated cost of the car. Pricing has to start at 30 thousand. zł.
