Researchers from Boston made a discovery that will help in the fight against antibiotic-resistant bacteria. New antibiotic called teiksobaktyny.

With the above method, it was possible to breed 10 thousand. colonies of bacteria and analyze the 25 antibiotics. Of these the most important was a teiksobaktyna. She fought among strains of Staphylococcus aureus resistant to methicillin.

Teiksobaktyna been tested on human cells, but it has not been tested directly on humans yet. It is known that showed no toxicity. Tests on mice have in turn argued that the antibiotic does not adversely affect mammalian cell membranes.
