Once activated, intensity and color temperature on the screen of our iPhone and iPad will vary depending on the time of day. In the evening and night colors become decidedly “warm” to the morning – when the sun – again “sharpen”. This is great news for all “night owls” who used to sleep with the phone on your face.

In a communication announcing a new feature of Apple explains that Night Shift reduces the intensity of blue light, which – according to numerous scientific studies – may cause disruption of our circadian rhythm and … impede sleep.

“Night Shift uses the clock and geolocation device with iOS-I to determine the sunset time for your location. It then automatically adjusts the color temperature, moving it to a warmer spectrum to bring relief to your eyes. Morning colors on the screen return to normal settings. Sweet dreams. “

Apple does not discover America

The Night Shift is going to be really interesting. The point is that by presenting a new feature with iOS-I 9.3, Apple’s “break down the door open.” Already in 2011, two American developers released the app f.lux , which works almost exactly like Night Shift.

f.lux met with very good response from the users computers running MacOS, and Linux PCs. The mobile application for iOS and has been so for creators natural direction.

This application actually established, but the installation required a jailbreak system. Apple decided that the application sharing in this way violates the principles of the program developer, and thus f.lux never App Store did not hit.

And all indications are that it will not hit anymore. Night Shift almost entirely copies the f.lux functionality, and the company from Cupertino will do everything to promote their solution.
