Download 1GB in 2 seconds – Samsung revealed a new Wi-Fi technology – Gazeta.pl

Currently, the Wi-Fi connection you can count on the transfer of data at a maximum speed of about 108 MB / s. Samsung announced today that it will soon leave these limitations of the past and will be able to enjoy the transfer of 4.6 Gb / s, or 575 MB / s!

But how is it?

The new technology uses a frequency of 60 GHz instead of the general public in Europe of 2.4 GHz. The solution is compatible with the 802.11 ad-short-range and maintains maximum speed regardless of the number of devices that use the same network, which is a problem in the solutions used today. In addition, such a solution can reduce the amount of lost data packets during wireless transmission, which significantly improve the quality of work applications – whether it’s a video conversation, or playing with friends on the network.

A dark and bright side 60 GHz
main problem 802.11 ad is short range, which currently stands at less than 5 meters in open space. Solution Samsung may, however, be used as improved speed when the devices are close to each other.
For this to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the new solution we will need the appropriate link to the transfer of more than 800 Mb / s, and this is what it is hard.

Fortunately, as in the case of the spectrum of 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, 60 GHz unlicensed band and it is expected that the commercial application of this technology will be possible as early as 2015. Samsung plans to apply this new technology in products such as audiovisual equipment and medical, as well as telecommunications equipment.

We are very curious what will come out
