Marshal Marek Sowa and Rector of Cracow University of Technology professor. Kazimierz Furtak officially opened the Laboratory of Building Energy-Efficient Lesser. This is one of the strategic research center for the region where the research will be conducted in the field of energy efficient technologies.
– The need to transition to a low carbon economy is both a challenge and an opportunity. In Malopolska we have facilities, both intellectual and financial resources to cope with this situation – said Marshal Marek Sowa, opening Lesser Laboratory of Building Energy Efficient.
– I am convinced that it is here that arise solutions that translate into real benefits: economic, social and environmental – he added.

participants emphasized openness, both Marshal Owl, and Rector of Cracow University of Technology Professor . Kazimierz Furtak Laboratory strengthen the position of Malopolska as a region of innovation, which can become a national leader in the field of low energy technologies.
– The new Regional Operational Programme 2014-2020 for activities related to energy policy, the development of renewable energy sources, improving energy efficiency and implementation of environmentally friendly technologies we are going to spend nearly 400 million euros. This is a huge sum, we must use wisely – reminded Marshal Owl.

Greater Laboratory of Building Energy-Efficient established in the main campus of the Technical University of Cracow. 5-storey building with an area of approx. 1100 m2 has been built to exacting standards of low-energy buildings. It is characterized by a modern lump and using complex systems installation.
has been completely automated and used in the heating and ventilation systems of different nature and characteristics. It is powered from the different sources, including from renewable sources.
The laboratory is equipped with specialized equipment for testing of new technologies, solutions, materials, construction and installation, as well as equipment to assess the thermal comfort of the building and interior microclimate.
– Not without reason called the center appears a phrase Lesser, without the support of the regional authorities have failed to realize that such a significant investment – said prof. Kazimierz Furtak, thanks especially to Marshal and Deputy Marshals Marek Sowa Roman Ciepieli.
The Rector also spoke about another, realized in collaboration with the province Lesser, project: the project “SPIN – Model transfer of innovation in Lesser Poland”, in which the Tarnów is already proving ground for energy efficiency.
