The group of industry leaders together with Razer and Sensics, a leader in the production of high-performance VR systems, today unveiled the ecosystem Open Source Virtual Reality (OSVR). Its main task is to create a new standard for virtual reality gaming. Razer has supported a project to create a device OSVR Hacker Kit and software for easy programming for any VR technology. OSVR both the device and the software deepening the experience of playing in the VR on many levels. The device is compatible with the leading graphics engines, including Unity and Unreal Engine 4. OSVR is also compatible with plugs hardware market leaders such as Bosch and Razer. Moreover, OSVR is designed to support all devices VR, including the Oculus DK 2 or Vrvana Totem headset. The new platform will allow outside developers to create their own applications and devices for any operating system, including Windows, Android and Linux.

According to the original concept, OSVR Hacker Dev Kit project will be open and accessible, which should encourage developers the use of this ecosystem. To allow even easier software development, OSVR HDK created using high quality optical low dispersion, which practically eliminates the need for subsequent color correction, thereby improving our development time (compared with other devices VR). Anyone can download the 3D files and build your own set of VR.

In addition to these glasses, OSVR is also a plugin for working with Oculus DK2.
