  Northern Lights over Norway

Sun bursts observed on 15 March. They were so strong that it caused a storm on Earth magnetic. Its strength is measured planetary Kp index. The higher the level, the greater the chances that the aurora is visible from the Polish. This happens already at 6 degrees, and now the storm force exceeded 8.6 degree! This means that the phenomenon can be observed even in central Poland.

Of course, the best chance of seeing the show will have the unique inhabitants of the northern part of the country. Even they, however, can prevent daylight. However, if you continue dawn to dusk, it’s best to watch it from places where artificial light does not reach.

Aurora is a light phenomenon that occurs at a height of 65 to 400 km above the earth’s surface. The colors of the aurora borealis are the result of the reaction of the solar wind particles with air molecules. Auroras can interfere with radio and satellite communications. They can also be dangerous – because of the emitted X-rays – for pilots and passengers of aircraft flying at high latitudes.
