See how it looked at the total solar eclipse … – TVN Meteo

In the town of Longyearbyen on Spitsbergen people cheered and clapped when darkness prevailed, and the sky became visible solar corona – the outer part of the solar atmosphere, extending millions of kilometers away.

The Faroe Islands eclipse was barely visible

Less fortunate were the inhabitants of the Faroe Islands (overseas territory of Denmark), where a solar eclipse was total, but unfortunately invisible because of the thick layer of clouds. This did not prevent the people of the city on the island Streymoy Tórshavn and thousands of tourists in wiwatowaniu, when for a few minutes it became less clear than usual at this time.

Hoping to see a total solar eclipse, tourists, mainly Danes, even before booked myself a few years ago on March 20 places in hotels in the Faroe Islands. Clouds thwarted their plans, and many did not hide the disappointment.

Next in Indonesia

Svalbard and the Faroe Islands were the only land areas where Friday’s eclipse was total. Previous observed in November 2012 in Australia, and the next – how to inform the American NASA – will be in Indonesia in March 2016 year.
