International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry confirmed the existence of four successive elements. Their atomic numbers are 113, 115, 117 and 118.
The new elements that complement the missing items in the seventh period of the periodic table, given the temporary name Ununtrium, ununpentium, Ununseptium and ununoctoum. New elements were obtained in a laboratory and are extremely unstable, because their atoms exist only for fractions of seconds.
Element 113 was produced for the first time already in 2004 by scientists from the Institute of Japanese Riken. The same also managed to researchers around the country (Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory), and the Russians from the Institute in Dubna, but the Japanese managed to repeat his achievement and that their officially recognized as explorers Ununtrium. Other elements were manufactured by American scholars Livermore and Oak Ridge National Laboratory and by Russian specialists in Dubna.
Ununtrium, ununpentium, Ununseptium and ununoctoum waiting now to give them a final, more affordable names.
