Sharks under tighter security. The new rules come into force – Polish Radio

The new rules apply to the five species of sharks, including the herring shark (Lamna nasus) and oceanic whitetip sharks (Carcharhinus longimanus).
With entry into force of the regulations established in the last year in Thailand during the meeting of signatories to the Convention on International Trade in Species of Wild Flora and Fauna Endangered.
Experts estimate that every year is harvested about one hundred million sharks. Their meat and fins are a delicacy in China or Korea. Elements of their bodies are also used in traditional Chinese medicine.
