The current VR Gear model is designed exclusively for use with Galaxy Note 4, which somewhat limits the functionality of the device. Especially that, soon will also go to the sale Galaxy Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. In Barcelona, the company unveiled a completely new model so goggles designed to work with these products.
The new model Gear VR due adapting it to operate with a smaller diagonal smartphone display is 15 percent smaller than the original. The manufacturer also redesigned the straps that hold the goggles on his head, thus providing better weight distribution and increased comfort. The novelty is, however, a mechanical ventilation system, which will further improve the ease of use of equipment.
The device is also enriched with port USB, which is used to charge the battery Galaxy S6 when it is included. This is a very useful change, especially when the user wants a little longer use the equipment.
The issue of software for the new version Gear VR left unchanged. Device users will still be able to access Samsung apps stores, Oculus and their partners, and, amongst others, 360 degrees movies, games and other applications. This is not good news, because now the amount of available content there is negligible and comes mainly demos.
Samsung does not say how much the new VR Gear will cost, but you can expect that it will be the same amount as in the previous model, which is $ 199.
