Is your iPhone 6S good or bad chip A9? Because there are two – Virtual Poland

The case is so interesting that while Apple provides that the differences should be minimal, so much user testing indicates otherwise.

Apple defines a processor constituting the heart of new iPhone 6S and 6S plus their own way, as the A9. But, as it turns out, it might be different A9 processors – produced by Korean Samsung or by Taiwanese company TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co.).

First, manufactured by Samsung called code APL0898 and has an area 96 mm square, and the other, APL1022, the chip area of 104.5 mm, manufactured by TSMC. Apple states only in general terms that each of these processors is based on a “new architecture”, but you can guess that when it comes to Samsung’s 14-nanometer version of the FinFET, and in the case TSCM – 16-nanometer.

Then comes the really interesting part of the story. Many users have found that mobile chip produced by TSCM work up to two hours longer than the iPhone 6S identically operated with a chip Samsung. And two hours it’s quite a difference.

Apple officially ensures that both systems are created in accordance with the guidelines and both meet the high standards of work and the real differences between them should be not more than 2-3 percent (in terms of product life).

Well, it must be recognized that the company has undoubtedly accurate data, derived both from the tests before releasing devices on the market, as well as from reports coming to the company at the present time. However, tests by some users also seem to be quite reliable … And they already show something else.

And one more news on the margins – of course it is not so, that Apple boasts on the box or anywhere else, what version of A9 processor was used in the original iPhone. To conclude, we can use unauthorized software, but requires it to the appropriate website has been opened just using tested the iPhone. It’s hard to do before you buy …
