The upcoming week promises to be very interesting . Not only did we have one day extra free is in addition Perseids are preparing us a wonderful night show.

On the night of 12/13 August Copernicus Science Centre in Warsaw invites residents to common observations of Perseids. Especially for this occasion, the lights go out Copernicus Science Centre, National Stadium and the surrounding bridges. Discovery Park will become the best place to observe meteors in Warsaw.

Perseids are one of the most famous meteor swarms in the world. They observed since about 2000 years, and the earliest information on the observations come from the Far East. Their name comes from the constellation Perseus, from which the meteors appear to be at night “fly out”.

The observations of meteors are exceptionally simple. Just find a dark place, lay on the grass, a blanket or a lounger and gaze sweep the greatest expanse of sky. After some time, will see the first “shooting stars”. Most will be seen high above their heads and above the eastern horizon. Usually, their activity is increased in the second half of the night.

All who have decide to go for Warsaw invite you to observe our Discovery Park. It will be the largest to watch the meteor in Poland!

Especially for this occasion will go out the surrounding light. Extinguish illumination Scientific Center Copernicus and lighting Discovery Park. PL.2012 + light off the National Stadium and Municipal Roads in Warsaw promised specifically for lovers of off backlight Warsaw bridges: Świętokrzyskie, Poniatowski and the Silesian-Dąbrowski.

This is not the end of the attraction. After the Vistula River will run special ship – with its deck also will be watching meteors. The parking lot will be hosted Foodtrucki CNK – everyone will find something good there.

The event at Discovery Park will lead Charles Wojcicki – popularizer of astronomy in our planetarium sky Copernicus. All guests will be able to find out how and where to observe meteors and learn fascinating stories associated with them.

Admission to the event is free. Beginning at 21:00, completion is scheduled for 1:00.
