Linux.Wifatch is an Internet worm, discovered by Symantec, which infects Internet routers and devices belonging to the wider Internet of Things (IoT). Not quite, but it can be called malware.
So far Wifatch has not been exploited to cause any damage. Employees Symantec also claims that its source code does not contain any elements that would allow the theft of user data, whether the execution popular in recent times DDoS attacks. Wifatch infects the device using telnet (and weak passwords). Once installed in our gadget, the worm disables the port responsible for this service and inform about the need to change our passwords and software updates.
In addition, the Wifatch offers modules whose mission is to fight with other malware. Its code is also the operative part of which is known Richard Stallman:

There are many indications that Wifatch is designed to protect users. The worm but still spreads by illegal infection equipment.
