Young Polish scientists again in the finals of the US space agency – NASA. This time, Wroclaw team of students “Space is More” has designed the printer and Martian space for astronauts home.
Last year, a group of “Space is More” from the Wroclaw University of Technology fought in the top ten finalists NASA to prepare for a mission to Mars. – Now the students are again fighting for first place. The new competition is to design base on the Martian surface – explains a member of the group, Simon grits.
In this database are living astronauts who arrive on this planet. Designers must take more into account the lack of water and oxygen on the Red Planet and varying temperatures.
The competition involved 30 teams, qualifying for the finals in two weeks in New York.

The successes of Poles
Polish scientists are successful in other professions connected with Space Exploration.
University Rover Challenge competitions are played each year in late May and early June near Mars base analogue MDRS, in the desert of Utah in the United States. In extreme conditions the rovers constructed by students from dozens of universities compete in several competitions simulating Martian missions.
The design works of the Polish team on the rover, called Ares was attended by a dozen people. – Worked as a design office, everyone was assigned the task, we used the common repository of technical documentation. We did everything from start to finish, from an idea by designing the submission, optimization and testing – says Tomasz Bear, a member of the Students’ Space Warsaw University of Technology.
