Apple is accustomed to a court battle and information about various conflicts involving the company has not surprised anyone. Typically, the Cupertino company is suing other manufacturers, but this time it happened otherwise, because it was accused of giant mislead users. The reason is the increased demand for space system files after updating iOS 7 to the latest version. apparently the company did not comply with its disclosure obligations.
The reason for the confusion are two residents of Florida – Paul Orshan and Christopher Endara, who claim that Apple has committed an abuse of providing iPads and the iPhone as a device offering 16 GB of storage, when in fact, you can save them a lot less files. Of course, this is nothing unusual, because the software is always hardware usurps some space, but the customers were angry that after the upgrade, consumed another gigabyte. Ironic in this whole affair is that iOS 8 was advertised as “the biggest release in history.”
In the case of devices with Android 3 GB of memory occupied by the system are not uncommon, but it should be remembered that most phones and tablets with the system created by Google offers the possibility to extend the available space using a memory card, and the products Apple does not give users the option. For now, the only action taken by the company was to offer customers take advantage of iCloud and where to store your files. Unfortunately, it is paid and not everyone likes to send their data to the cloud, so this proposal does not calm down angry users.
We do not know how to end this whole thing, but the result is unlikely to be another spectacular compensation . It is worth noting that Apple has ever struggled with a similar lawsuit, because in 2007, the manufacturer has been accused of the iPod software update available space decreased from 8 GB to 7.45 GB. That difference, of course, was lower than in the present case, but it is not known whether it will be important for the court. Whatever the verdict, most likely the next updates will inform users about changes, because Apple is unlikely to want in the future again expose their image by another case in court.
