Samsung targeted the European Commission. The manufacturer had on a massive scale to cheat in tests of energy consumption – Spider’s Web

The average home television is responsible for approx. 10% of energy consumption. If this is a TV Samsung, percentages may, however, be greater. It seems that Samsung deliberately cheated on tests and undercutting the energy consumption in their TVs.

This information first gave the British the Guardian. According to the newspaper Samsung deliberately underestimates the demand for energy in order to better adapt to European standards. During the official test Samsung TVs were showing a much lower power consumption than when operating in standard conditions.

The alleged scam Samsung came to light after a research group ComplianTV conducted independent tests in their laboratories and compared the results with tests made according to the methodology imposed by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). ComplianTV detected significant differences in the demand for energy. In the conditions of the test carried out in accordance with the formal procedures of Samsung TVs are much more energy efficient.

ComplianTV study showed that Samsung’s TVs are equipped with a system that recognizes the test conditions and automatically adjusts the display parameters. The biggest concerns aroused Motion Lighting function, which can darken the backlight, and thus reduce energy consumption. Independent tests have shown that the function starts immediately after switching test materials. And in real life, the Motion Lighting is much more restrained in action, resulting in higher energy consumption.

According to the researchers, this is a deliberate Samsung, which aims to falsification of the results of the energy efficiency of televisions.

Group ComplianTV that detected the alleged fraud, is financed from the EU budget . However, the case goes further, because the European Commission announced that accurately prześwietli TVs and test procedures Samsung. Interestingly, the EC had already heard about the issue. Organizations from several EU countries, wrote in this regard to EU officials a few months ago. The problem pointed out, among others, The Swedish Energy Agency.

Samsung second VW with?

The case is similar to the twin loud scandal involving Volkswagen. VW deliberately undercutting the data on emissions by installing 11 million of its cars cheating special software testing procedures. As a result, diesel engines seemed much greener than they really are.

The offense, which was supposed to allow Samsung seems to have a smaller scale, although it must be remembered that higher energy consumption is not only higher energy bills for the end user. For more energy environment suffers too.

The difference lies in the fact that VW officially admitted to manipulation, while Samsung flatly denies that cheating in tests. The matter will be further investigated by the European Commission.

“Buy you a brick”

I am very far from being a believer in conspiracy theories, but recent events show that the products we use does not need to be such as they seem. Snatch Volkswagen and doubts about the morality Samsung only confirm this.

Planning deliberate aging products or outright scams large corporations confirm my belief that this whole machinery of the client is not the most important. What matters is sales. The company’s goal is not happiness recipient, just making a profit. It is sad but true.
