According to Greek mythology, it was off the coast of Paphos with sea foam born Aphrodite. Reality equal myths. There are unique buildings, including a giant villa Theseus consisting of 100 rooms, and like a woven carpet mosaic called treasure Paphos.
– In Paphos there are two Polish archaeological expeditions. The University of Warsaw was established even on behalf of prof. Kazimierz Michalowski. On the other hand, our expedition began operations in 2011. While the Warsaw research focuses on discovering the residential area of the city, so much of our – exploring the ancient city of Agora – explains prof. Ewdoksia Papuci-Lord, Head of the Department of Classical Archaeology at the Institute of Archaeology of the Jagiellonian University and head of the project “Paphos Agora Project”.
